Background
Lee A. “Gunny” Jeter, Sr. is a man of service: to his country as a decorated retired United States Marine Veteran (3 Navy Commendation Medals, 3 Navy Achievement Medals, 5 Good Conduct Medals, 17 Certificates of Commendation, and numerous other commendations and awards), to his faith as a bi-vocational Pastor, and to his community through over 27 years of volunteer work with local, state, and national organizations.
A lifelong resident of Bossier Parish and a graduate of Parkway High School and Central Texas College, Gunny and his wife, Penny Carroll-Jeter, are the proud parents of 5 children and grandparents of 12.

Lee has advised the Louisiana Campaign for Equal Justice, assisted the McArthur Justice Center in addressing racial bias in jury selection, and served as a community liaison for the Justice Reinvestment Task Force.

A proud Marine veteran, Lee has exemplified servant leadership for over 48 years. For the past 15 years, as Director of the Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana Inc., he has led the charge in providing affordable housing to low-moderate income families, empowering them through the transformative power of homeownership.
